GeoVision is a leading producer of high quality surveillance systems. The Internet Protocol system allows the cameras and recorded material to be networked and accessed through a computer system. The information is recorded using a network video recorder, or NVR. Saving hard drive space on an NVR is important. To accomplish this, the cameras have a motion detection option, that when activated only record when someone is present or moving, which saves hard drive space. Typically, replacing a full hard drive on an NVR is difficult, but GeoVision has installed a hot swap drive enclosure that allows the hard drive to be easily accessed.
In addition to the IP recording system, GeoVision uses IP cameras to provide quality surveillance assurance. The cameras provide a clear picture, without being choppy, while recording activity at 15 frames per second, nearly the number of frames per second recorded in Hollywood films. IP cameras are able to move and zoom from the space they where they are installed, so one camera is able to provide the perspective of multiple cameras. Camera images can be viewed simultaneously on one display screen, increasing the security of the office building. Or, if the owner or manager is away the camera images can be viewed from a blackberry or iphone.
There are an endless number of security features available through GeoVision to fit the needs of any organization. The features range from crowd detection, face detection, missing and unattended object protection, video stabilization and people counting, to name a few. Missing and unattended object detection are primary features that increase security and safety. On the computer screen, a box can be drawn around a specific object, or objects, and if the object is removed from its location an alert is sent to the system. Similarly, if unattended objects are not allowed in a specific location a box can be drawn around the location on the computer screen. If an object is placed inside the location an alert is sent to the system. These two features decrease theft while increasing safety.
